PRAISE-BE-TO-GOD

In the midst of a storming sea, I found you – a solid rock unmoved by the raging blue. Desperately, I clung to you, scrabbling to grasp hold, as the waters of tribulation began to unfold. In your presence I found peace, in my time of grief, which, in-turn, has strengthened my faltering belief. I now stand firm in your piercing light – rebounding against temptations, perpetual, plight. As I continue to fall short of the glory of God – I feel comforted by my Shepard’s staff and rod. Through Christ Jesus my salvation is secure – content with your loving word, O’ Lord, I shall endure.

NO MORE SHADOWS

By His blood, my stains are bleached, able now to go to a place unreached. The rope that freed me from my pit, was the noose in satan’s survival-kit. The darkness has fled from under my bed, along with all the dread within my head. A warm and gentle light blankets me, and an unspeakable joy surrounds thee. The Lord’s resurrection is my soul’s second wind – able now to call God, The Father, my friend. Soon we’ll walk in gardens vast, in His light, finding not a single shadow cast.

POEM OF GRATITUDE

Mom, how many letters and poems must I write – to express my gratitude with all thy might? For you have given me a gift eternal, along with life – split between twins, fraternal. From the Lord through you, a seed was planted. And through all opposition, salvation was granted.

You taught me to have faith by praying through trails. You taught me integrity (by going the extra miles). I learned honesty from you through your walk-in truth, and each one of my testimonies is living proof. Through all of my rebellions you were patiently praying – as your beautiful hair was continually graying. You have sown a harvest which was slow to produce, but from your fruits – Christ’s love, I was able to deduce.

I know you’ll be rewarded, in heaven, with treasures so vast – from all of the crops you have worked in the past. The only way I can fathom to repay the love you have shown – is by producing generational fruits with love of my own, so that God will multiply your reward, with the love His Son has sown.
